Are you having trouble retaining clients during the emergency, despite offering telehealth services?

We’ve spoken with quite a few group practice owners about this issue, because they’re in a position to see how different clinicians’ approaches to the transition work (and don’t work.) Fortunately, their observations match up with what we’ve known for a long time from research. Watch the video to learn more.

A Summary of the Points

Therapist Attitude/Approach Heavily Impacts Outcomes

  • When employing tech in a central way during therapy, the therapist’s attitude towards the tech has a very large impact on successful outcomes.
  • Group practice owners have been telling us that the clinicians who seem more tentative about the transition to telehealth have much lower client numbers than the ones who seem to feel confident/okay with it.

Client Retention is Impacted by Confidence/Competence

  • Fake it ’til you make it.
  • Lean on the therapeutic alliance to give you room to make mistakes.
  • Remember that perfect is the enemy of good.
  • Practice/get training to improve your competence and thus your confidence.
