What Is This Product?

Ess Oh Ess Online Backup logo with a key in the middle of the letter OhSOS Online Backup is a cloud-based file backup tool that will enter into Business Associate Agreements with health care professionals. SOS sends copies of files from your computer or computers on their servers, to be retrieved in case of loss of data or your entire computer or drive.

1) If you need a Business Associate Agreement be sure to sign up for a Business plan

If you are storing PHI with SOS Online Backup, you’ll need a BAA. But you’ll only be able to enter into a BAA if you sign up for a Business level plan.

2) Request your BAA before using the product

You need to request your BAA with this product as it is not executed automatically at registration. This can be done by contacting their support.

3) Confirm that backups are functioning

Remember that HIPAA’s security standards call on us to regularly check our backup systems to make sure they’re working. Ensure that backups are running by checking the SOS Online Backup application.
